15/02/1474 BERRY ATTACKS THE EMPIRE

BERRY ATTACKS THE EMPIRE

Gianlupo (BIL) has asked for a right to respond on an earlier article and states that BIL was on the route home, which is Genève, where they would pick up more equipment and soldiers to start the journey to Portugal. On the way, going through the forests as they always do, they were unjustly attacked by two hostile armies from the Empire. He states the facts as:

1. Two peaceful, anti-ONE armies, as they had been doing for years, crossed the woods of Franche-Comté to return to Geneva to their own homes to resupply and set off again.
2. Two aggressive armies from Franche-Comté and Savoie attacked BIL, convinced that they were heading for northern Italy.

The KAP has analysed the first statement and it is seen as truth. However, the second statements of Gianlupo is proven to be false by the Duke of Berry Alleaume de Niraco. In a letter issued to all Berrichons, by the Duke of Berry, he has stated the opposite and this has now removed all remaining doubt: Berry deliberately sent its armies into Savoie and towards Italy. In his own words, the Duke confirms that two Berrichon armies were travelling to Italy alors qu’elles se rendaient en Italie afin d’aider à combattre le clan ONE when they were intercepted during the night of the 12th to the 13th in Savoie. Savoie had closed their borders and the Berrichon armies were denied passage. Instead of returning home, they disregarded this order and tried to force their way through into Savoie territory by attacking the Savoie border guards, which resulted in failure and retreat, as Landry the Duke of Savoie has stated. The KAP will continue investigating the facts from all parties (Gianlupo, Alleaume and Landry) and analyse which of them is to be seen as most truthful: the word of Dukes, or the word of people who call the forest their home.

Berry is currently still at war with Bretagne, a conflict likewise that was justified under the banner of fighting ONE. Yet instead of marching toward Portugal -where multiple reports indicate ONE presence- Berry’s forces moved eastward, toward Savoie.. The interception by Savoyard forces was an act of prevention and self-defense of the Empire’s integrity. Had these armies not been stopped, they would have continued deeper into Imperial Italy. What emerges now is the clear image of a coordinated military operation aimed at the Empire, prepared in advance and set in motion under a convenient pretext, with multiple parties invading at the same moment.

Now the question lies: does Berry join this axis of evil or was this solely the operation of the organisation Clair-Obscur ?
