30/07/1472 Monarch Dismantles Heraldry College.

Kingdoms Associated Press - London, England

In the realm of heraldry, patience is often considered a virtue, but it seems that for one recent monarch, revenge is a more efficient strategy.

Last October, Avanni Paldor, a prominent member of a major clan, applied for membership in the College of Heraldry. However, her application was denied. Just three months later, she won a position in the constitutional monarchy of England. Her reaction to the rejection was swift and dramatic.

Among her first actions as monarch was a meeting with Prince Rowan Ashenheart, the head of the College of Heraldry. What began as a routine inquiry about titles and lands quickly devolved into a personal interrogation about the whereabouts of her application. Despite assurances that the application had been misplaced, her dissatisfaction led her to demand further explanations and even to summon a former member of the College for questioning. Prince Rowan noted that such discussions are typically confidential, a point she disregarded.

In a striking declaration, Monarch Avanni asserted that the College of Heraldry’s existence depended solely on the reigning monarch, quoting, "the College of Heraldry only exists because of King Long John Silver and only continues to exist by the grace of the reigning monarch." This assertion ignored the preamble of the College, which states its formation and maintenance are "by the grace and divine right of His Majesty, the King of England, Long John Silver, and through the continuing grace of our Sovereign."

By April, her discontent had escalated to the removal of the College of Heraldry use by her, an act she justified in a decree detailing grievances and previously unseen actions of the College. She announced that the institution would be repurposed solely for artistic endeavours and criticized its operations, much like Princess Zulita Palidor has done in the past.

A discussion and vote in the House of Lords soon followed, addressing her conduct and its implications. The vote sought to shut down the College due to what was deemed a vindictive shift in its operations, influenced by her rejection and the removal of her relative, Princess Zulita. The critique centred on the abandonment of long-standing procedures and the establishment of a new peerage system by Monarch Avanni, effectively disregarding two decades of dedicated work.

The Monarch's new organization, the Royal Institute of Peerage (RIP), has further complicated matters by violating a recent treaty with Castile and León. In response to these developments, a letter was sent to Monarch Avanni, requesting clarification on the reasons for replacing the College of Heraldry with the RIP and its anticipated benefits for the nation. Her reply was noncommittal, promising a detailed statement in the near future. She replied with, "We will be releasing a statement on this matter with full details in the near future. Hopefully it will answer most, if not all, questions"

The abrupt and contentious dismantling of the College of Heraldry suggests a troubling disregard for established traditions and procedures, raising concerns about the long-term impact of this decision on the stability and heritage of the English monarchy.
