31/12/1470 End of Year Review

Kingdoms Associated Press - London, England

Well England, the end of the year is fast approaching and so is the end of the year check up on a monarch. Not that much can be done in two months but still, nonetheless, let us see if anything has been done or not.

The monarch, HRH Andreas Sharpe said in his campaign promises :

  • House of Lords

  • ✍️ KAP
A committee was formed and a review is ongoing. In that committee, you will find many of the same people who are on the committee that the Monarch has tasked to review the HOP closure of The Court of Appeals (that is another article to be written).

The meeting in the House of Lords, while ongoing seems to be at a standstill. As always conceptual semantics play a role as does political allegiance it appears. My two pence in this, if you want something done, take the common people and have them hash out the

  • Order of the Garter

  • ✍️ KAP
Does anyone outside that group actually know what the Order of the Garter has done or will do? As it stands that area to gain knowledge is locked up tighter than a lass in a chastity belt welded shut.

Essentially ladies and gentlemen, the Order of the Garter is a group of honourable knights. As we can see, this group is not active with the public so to gain further information one might petition to see what they are up to. So far, they are not being used for much as indicated in the campaign, it appears.

  • Trade and Economy

"I will support the further establishment of regular trading and routes between Counties and Councils, potentially using REN/RNA & RMA assets to move consignments of goods. " is what HRH Andreas stated in his campaign speech.

  • ✍️ KAP
I fear this is an easy promise by anyone who wants to be elected will say. Counties trade with others and have done so without the need for help from a monarchy. For the record, the RMA does not hold any ability to move assets, it is there to teach and teach only. As to REN well, the royal navy needs active members and a reason to take the royal ships out IF the counties did not have their own ships to do so. But we know the four counties have already done so without the need of REN or the Monarchy.

  • Military and Defence

"I will continue to support and further develop the programme of armed trader escorts established by Sir Itamar.
I will consider budget possibilities for REN, RNA, RMA, NMC (Dependent on the state of the Royal Treasury after the Elections) to help strengthen defences across the Kingdom at both National and County levels. " said HRH Andreas.

  • ✍️ KAP
The first part is to further develop armed trader escorts - with all the border closures, I haven't seen an update on this. Let us talk a little more about empty promises and just to make myself look good statements. Counties take care of their own defences, they always have. If a county requires help from another, they reach out to ask. Not once have I seen where they have gone to a monarch or national level to ask for help.

  • Prestige

  • ✍️ KAP We have a statement that is actually true, but it is embroiled in the lack of funds when this monarch was elected. So much so, fundraisers were done to gather more money or individuals have donated large sums themselves for this one promise. Of course, the scandal where the former heir took the royal treasury and used it for games and then to buy more votes for this monarch possibly is a downfall on this.

  • Social and Culture

  • ✍️ KAP
His Majesties Royal tour - that's a maybe. We know he has travelled but has he engaged the public? No records of such are produced yet. It is still early as of yet so perhaps that will happen soon, along with his mentioned joust, more crown-sponsored events and what about the seasonally themed events in the tower - none of those have happened. At least not in the past two seasons.

  • National Dispatch
"Relaunch an existing newspaper which is a Crown-sponsored but Independent newspaper for reporting on the Kingdom at every level from Towns upwards with a publishing target of at least one general issue per month, plus specials covering significant events, etc." was heard as a campaign promise.

  • ✍️ KAP
I had hopes for this one, as it was more realistic. However, nothing has been out of that promise since September.

Let us hope the New Year brings more of the promises given when he gave his speech.

I wish everyone the happiest of New Year and may you all get out there and shape England with your appearances.
