23/04/1469 Strange events in Dartmouth

Dartmouth in Devon has seen some unusual events - in a matter of just a few days, the whole town has turned into a huge building site, a town hall's tavern has disappeared in strange circumstances, and a few hours later, an attempted mutiny broke out at dawn. How did all this happen?

Let us start from the beginning. As a new resident of this charming town, I noticed the rather unusual layout of the streets and the location of the most important buildings. After a long conversation with the Mayor Brody and presenting him with a number of designs on how I thought our town could be architecturally improved and made more attractive not only to residents but also to visitors and possibly those looking for their new home, I was given the keys to the planning assistant's office. Once I entered it, I didn't leave it for days, still poring over old books and town maps to learn as much as I could about Dartmouth and its history. Most intriguing was an old and barely legible parchment with a note about a Celtic burial place, or perhaps a ritual site in the nearby woods, but it was hard to tell as half the words were blurred and the parchment looked as if it would crumble to dust any minute. However, I've decided to investigate it later, so that now, thanks to the other books and maps, I could get on with the big changes in the town and plan the construction of additional parts of the walls that should surround Dartmouth in its entirety and keep it safe.

It may be said that I was inspired to the latter by another unusual event - the presence in the town of a group of strange, masked people who were constantly hiding in the dark and narrow streets, and it would seem that there were more and more of them every day. What was the reason for their visit? It isn't known to anyone. Perhaps they had mistaken Dartmouth for another town, such as Chard, or perhaps I was not the only one who had recently decided to move to Dartmouth. In any case, the more, the merrier, as they say.

And so, in just a few days, the sleepy town turned into a huge construction site - groups of workers could be seen everywhere, new roads were made, the ground was prepared for the construction of walls, even some buildings seemed to have changed their place. One in particular - the tavern managed by the town hall, "The Fishermans Pub", on the evening of the 19th of April has completely disappeared from the city space and cannot be found anywhere. This is probably the first such case in the history of this town, perhaps in the history of the whole county as well. Unfortunately, nobody knows anything and cannot be sure when this tavern will return to its town. Strangely enough, a few hours after the mysterious disappearance of the local tavern, just at dawn there was an attempted revolt and someone tried to take over the town hall. Among the rebels Mr Krellgar was recognized (and Mr Vidomir, however he claims he was one of the defenders that night). Fortunately, he and the mysterious rebels failed to do so and the town hall is still occupied by the lawfully elected Mayor Brody.

The people of Dartmouth, however, are slowly beginning to worry, as they have been used to living in peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the big world. Could there be more strange incidents in this town in the near future? No one knows, but if there are, we will certainly try to inform our faithful readers.
