21/08/1465 Confession is good for the soul

LONDON (KAP). – His Holiness, Pope Innocentus the First, restored to the clergy the rite of confession on the eight day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand four hundred and sixty-five. In perfect accord, the King's own men have unlocked the confessional doors to any willing to enter.

The Vicar of Aristotle also authorized bishops to impose taxation.

Confessing is free, and will wipe clean any two of seven sins. The seven sins are:

Pride. Can be avoided by not holding elected and appointed offices, as well as carrying very little wealth on your person. Offices, not inclusive, are: county council, harbourmaster, City mentor, ship's crew, bartender, doctor with office, and army commander; and in particular, King of England.

Greed. Can be avoided by owning less than £500 in coins.

Envy. Can be avoided by owning more than £500 in coins.

Anger. Can be avoided by carrying neither weapon nor tool.

Spiritual apathy, or Acedia. Can be avoided by frequently celebrating Mass.

Gluttony and Lust. Related to food, drink, and genders.

When, in the course of life, you find yourself burdened by sin, three options exist:
1. Accept your sinful nature, and be shunned by society, especially the mine foreman.
2. Buy an indulgence. For £20, your sins will be forgiven by 20%. A sin rating of 10 would be reduced by 2. Of that cost, £10 goes to the bishop's treasury, and £10 goes to the Papal treasury.
3. Confession. This is free, if the City has an active priest or deacon.

You may request only one confession, but immediately after you confess, you may request another confession on the same day. The priest may appoint two additional confessors, but only one of the three may work each day. Each confession ends in complete absolution of two of your sins.

Hearing confessions is a day's labour for the confessor. You may donate up to £5 directly to them, to offset their day's lost income. But some, such as His Royal Highness, Moratt Randoval, King of England and Confessor of Dover – who heard twenty-four confessions while visiting – desire no personal donations.

Seek your local clergy for more information.
