Good day, England! Today's Spotlight minutes will take place in Hastings, Sussex. I found a most interesting trader there who agreed to tell us a little more about themselves. I travelled down to Hastings, which was rough due to the robberies that had been happening lately. Thankfully, I made it safe and was able to set up a time and place to talk with the man.

"Hello Ali. Thank you for allowing me to interview you for Spotlight minutes. Tell us about yourself. What do people call you? What do you do for a living?
Ali
"My name is Ali. Ali Akbar and in a trader and proprietor of Ali the Trader."

✍️ KAP
"A trader? That sounds exciting! What type of work, as a trader is your favourite?"
Ali
"Haggling. Sitting in a tavern and bartering with people on a daily basis to buy wares fresh and direct from the fields and ranches. Nothing brings out the fire in your being alike a good barter. Makes you feel alive it does!"

Do you have family in England? Do they share the same enthusiasm for trade as you do?
Ali
"Yes. I recently joined the Markova Clan led by Shirinova Markov. They are into sailing and trading a lot so I felt they would be a perfect fit for me"

✍️ KAP
"That must involve a lot of travel time. What do you do with your off time when you are not travelling or trading?"
Ali
"Study. Merchants should be versed in the ways of the world should they not? I just completed my naval education more or less and I’m planning to get into either state or medical."

✍️ KAP
"Education is very important, I agree. The more we learn is when more of our experiences grow. Do you have a favourite type of work as a trader?"
Ali

" Tell us, do you enjoy the duels or archery tournaments? What one of those has a story that stands out the most for you and can you share it?"
Ali
"My Feud with Gh0st.
Put my name on the map it did. I’m a pretty low key person. But Ghost brought out the fire in me. Also thrashed me very soundly all the times we duelled in the arena. Good times!"

Sounds like you enjoyed it many times. It would be nice to see the records of that. Duels can't be the only excitement you have had. Where have you travelled in your life and where was your favourite place?"
Ali
"I just recently returned from Scotland. It’s the only place I’ve ever been to. Went by sea and in by land. It was fun. Real quiet but also really helpful people. Made a few contacts there. I’m bound to profit of if in future"

"Speaking of the future, what would you like to see in yours?"
Ali
"Trade. Loads and Load dog Trade. Both by land and by sea. I would like to expand Ali the Trader to be a foremost commercial concern and merchanting outfit in England and maybe even beyond."
